【地元小学校での職業講話】

川崎中原ロータリークラブでは、青少年奉仕委員会で地域貢献活動の一環として、地元の小学校で「職業講話」を行っています。

ロータリアンはそれぞれが社会で活躍する“職業人”であり、子どもたちに伝えられる経験や学びが多くあります。この日は、教室に入ると子どもたちが真剣な眼差しで話を聞き、始終温かい雰囲気に包まれました。

As part of our community service activities, the Kawasaki Nakahara Rotary Club conducts “career talks” at local elementary schools. Each Rotarian is a dedicated professional in their field, and there is much we can share with children about work, responsibility, and the values we cherish. On this day, students listened attentively, their eyes bright with curiosity, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere throughout the session.

【子どもたちの純粋な質問に触れて】

講話の途中には、
「どうしてその仕事を選んだの？」
「失敗したことはありますか？」
「大変な時はどうやって乗り越えるの？」など、

無邪気で核心を突く質問がいくつも飛び出しました。
子どもならではの素直な問いかけに、こちらが学ばされる場面も多くあり、職業人として、また地域の大人として伝える責任と喜びを感じる時間となりました。

During the talk, students asked sincere and insightful questions such as, “Why did you choose your job?”, “Have you ever failed?”, and “How do you overcome difficult times?” Their pure and direct curiosity often taught us as much as we hoped to teach them. These exchanges reminded us of the meaningful role adults and professionals can play in supporting children’s growth.

【未来を担う子どもたちへ届けたいこと】

子どもたちは、やがて社会に出て誰かの役に立つ存在になります。
その前に、働くことの意味や、倫理観、人として大切にしたい姿勢を少しでも伝えられたなら、それは私たちロータリアンにとって大きな喜びです。

今後も「職業奉仕」の理念のもと、より多くの子どもたちに学びの機会を届け、地域の未来を支える一助となる活動を続けてまいります。

These children will one day enter society and contribute in their own unique ways. If we can offer even a small insight into the meaning of work, the importance of ethics, or the attitudes we value as professionals, then our efforts are truly worthwhile. Guided by Rotary’s philosophy of “Vocational Service,” we will continue providing opportunities for learning and inspiration, supporting the future of our community by reaching more children in the years ahead.
